Best food around good buy
You can get breakfast served at anytime. If they are open, you can get breakfast.
Ive been passing this place for many years and never stop. However, one day we decided to give it a try. Very pleased with the food that now its become a regular spot for me. I usually get the French toast, eggs, grits, and bacon. Now i have expanded to their fried chicken wings!! So delicious!! The food is worth stopping here.
Hidden off the interstate from travelers but known by locals this little diner stays busy. They have great burgers and great service. They over plate lunches and prices are hard to beat. We had the burgers going down towards the beach and was very surprised at the quality. Coming back we ordered their plate lunch. Wish we had ordered another burger. Guess their home cooking wasn't what we had a taste for that day. Still a great little place to grab a quick meal.
By far the best breakfast I've ever had! I've had the house omelette haven't had anything better since.
Delicious home cooked meals located right off of Interstate 26! I ordered the chicken salad sandwich and was not disappointed! Someone else at my table said the pimento cheese was very good as well! Service was quick and our waitress was very friendly and helped us decide what to order.
Old style diner. Good food. Good prices. A leftover from a dieing era
Stopped here on the way down from Michigan. The food was great and served in a timely manner. The bathroom sure could use some work but all in all it was a great stop
The breakfast, even at noon, is out of this world delicious! It has that small town all family owned and operated feel to it because that's exactly what it is and I absolutely LOVE that! The entire wait staff are all above and beyond hospitable. My wife and I had a waitress named Crystal today and she was incredibly nice an amazing waitress and a pleasure to talk to. We aren't even from around where that restaurant is but they have just gained long time customers in my wife and I.
Our second visit wasn't as pleasant as the first. On this visit, we entered, masks on, and asked if we could sit at the counter which was empty. One employee said sure. So we sat, then the cook who had a large attitude, said we had to distance every other seat. I said we are together, they said we had to social distance. There was 3 of us, myself, my wife and my son. Really?. So they put us in a booth. Then ignored us for the next 15 minutes. Waited on a table who entered after us, and then watched the cook with an attitude argue with other employees throughout our dinner which was ok at best.
People working here are def. Call in a order and no matter who answers the phone they can’t hear. Ordered a hamburger steak plate and they cooked a chopped sherloin. Call in a order, they say 15 minutes. Drove 10 minutes. Wait out front for food for 30 minutes. They never brought it out. Call, they say they’ll be out shortly. Wait another 10 minutes. Still no food. Won’t be back here anymore. Y’all just lost a customer!
Great food fresh and cooked to order! This was a really nice stop for us, there was plenty of room to park our rig in the back and it took no time at all to get our Food! The covered hash browns were the best! Along with bacon, sausage, eggs, grits, toast, biscuits, fresh coffee and orange juice. The only thing a little off were the biscuits, they definitely get points for being homemade, but they were dry and a little burned on the bottom Other than that, this was some of the best home style cooking we've enjoyed in a long time. The place itself is clean, the service is quick, the prices are fair and the waitress was very nice.If your considering whether or not to stop in, I encourage you to take the time to stop in and enjoy some breakfast, since it is served all day!
Good portion sizes, hospitable and prompt staff, VERY clean bathroom
Found by coincidence, driving E on I-26! Stepped in for a break and some late lunch! Ms. Nicole was a very nice 'host' serving the tasty meal in best manner! Told her we'll be back...!
They are the best. The food and the people. The entire environment is so comforting and loving.
The southern 70s memories flood your mind throughout the meal. I felt terrible I forgot our waitress' name. Thick bacon, fresh cut potato chips, golden brown onion rings... and mom loved her BLT!
I love their biscuits and gravy. Fast, friendly service!!
Food was great. On our way back from Hilton Head. Staff was super friendly and made a to go order for our puppy. No frills diner with no frills pricing. Would go back anytime.
Busy place. GOOD FOOD
NOT a big box chain!! A large slice of real country ham, real home fried potatoes, an egg, toast and coffee. Good service with friendly wait staff. Well prepared. The menu items signified that we were, indeed, out of the city. Although I didn't try the offering, fried bologna sandwich was included on the menu. Next visit. (I-26 and Rt-34, about exit 74)
I haven’t even eaten my food yet but I just ordered the pumpkin pie coffee. It came stacked high with whipped cream crumbly pumpkin flavored crust( like graham cracker) and a mini pumpkin 😍. Definitely stop by. Wholesome diner with quick service and awesome prices.Came pack to review the food. Simple and delicious. Country comfort food at its best. I had fried pickles and a burger. Both were served hot and cooked correctly.
Ordered to go breakfast. This is one of the best omelettes I've ever had. Delicious home cooked southern meal.
A classic diner with made from scratch, southern cornbread, Mac n cheese, mashed potatoes. Good food.
Super friendly. Awesome food. And very accommodating!
Great food and service
Love this place!! Their meat & veggies are really good & comes with & dessert & drink for less than $9. Love their Breakfast eggs taste fresh of the farm & multiple choices of sausages biscuits & gravy are on point!! Everything I have had here has always been really good!!
The lunches served are true southern cooking. We stop by every time we are in the area for lunch. Most of the time I ordered from the lunches (meat and 2 veggies with dessert). The burgers aren't too bad either. You can always tell when a place is good because it is usually busy. That is usually how it is however we've not had any problems getting seated. Staff is very friendly and curtious. If you are in the area for lunch stop in. My guess is that you won't be disappointed.
A family owned restaurant that has been a part of this area for a long time! Not only a favorite of locals, but being located right off the interstate draws in a lot of travelers. Daily meal specials along with a versatile menu and friendly staff make this a win!
A staple in Newberry cuisine, just a classic dinner with a long history. The daily lunch specials are great and the optional deserts that come with it are usually good. I just wish they offered the banana pudding on a more regular basis. The waitstaff are usually pretty good and it’s all around a pretty fast place to get in and out. Very conveniently located right off the interstate.
Stopped to get gas & seen this mom & pop store next to it & decided to give it a try. That cook sure knew how to prepare a good burger! If you stop in, give "Bill's burger" a try. First time I've ever eaten a burger with hashbrowns, not bad!
Very unassuming spot we stopped for lunch on the way to Jacksonville, FL. Had great food and service. They forgot my coleslaw (I wasn't even aware) replaced it with a cobbler at the end of our meal! Also noticed that many guests were known by name and regular order, made it feel like family.
The cooks was not wearing mask., the ones that were wearing masks was covering there noses or wearing them on there chainone of the cooks was eating cooking and Talkin at the same time so you could imagine, the service was great but was not following the wearing of the mask rules.
Good food. Great service
Don't miss this place. Very good breakfast
Great home cooking! Fried chicken was tender, mot greasy and delicious, with rice and gravy. Chopped steak with onions and gravy, twice baked potatoes. Two of the lunch specials, cones with roll, cornbread and peach cobbler. Great service with a smile.
Mom and pop restaurant ate supper and breakfast there, people were very friendly and food was fantastic
We went on a Sunday so there was a wait for a table. Waitress was good, just enough attention. Prices are very good. Home cooked food was good, my only complaint is the chicken could have been warmer.
What a great find! We're driving from Anderson, SC to Charleston & stopped for breakfast. I had a scrambled egg (cooked to perfection) & a grilled muffin. Who knew you could grill a muffin. It had delicious crunchy bits on it! Hubs had a big plate of eggs, country ham, grits w/red-eye gravy, toast & a side of biscuits & gravy...he was very stuffed after that. Our waitress had smiling eyes (wearing a mask), was happy & attentive. Tables are marked for social distancing. As hubs said, "if I lived anywhere close to this place, I'd be here every Saturday morning!" The place was hopping...dine-in and take out. For RV & truck travelers, they have parking in the back. Highly recommended!
So pumped we found this place on our road trip. Awesome little diner spotlighting small town southern hospitality. Amazing food at a great price. The fried chicken was a showstopper. Perfectly crispy not oily or greasy. The madarian orange parfait is the real MVP though. Simple food made right. Just make sure you beat the church crowd there or else your in for a wait. Also skip the corn bread and thank me later.
Excellent food, kind staff. Omelettes are HUGE! A good old diner atmosphere!
Great place to stop and eat at. Prices are reasonable. Good food and fast service. Place was clean. It was busy.
I ordered the Chicken Fried Chicken with rice & gravy... which included 3 sides, dessert & iced tea! My sister ordered a Grilled Chicken Club with fries!! Everything was very good and a wonderful break from the burger scene!!
Good food. Great service we will be back.
I wish there were a way to give a better review for this mom & pop restaurant. We were told we could sit anywhere except the tables with white papers. We went to the back, no tables. We came back up front to let the waitresses know. She acted like it was an inconvenience to help us. However, we were finally seated.Chicken was really good, but the rice, gravy, green beans, and banana nut cake was nasty. My husband's cheeseburger club was nothing to write home about. Our son enjoyed his meal except for the slaw. We won't go back when we're in the area.
Cool.... it was only a few minutes off the interstate and it was a nice hearty meal. They serve both breakfast and lunch. Friendly staff. Good place to stop if you want the local cuisine while traveling! Oh, and if you're brave or have a death wish try the Trashy Hashbrowns, they're delicious.
Horrible service with rude waitresses. My husbands glass of ice water had a piece of trash in the bottom of it. The time it took a waitress to notice us was ridiculous. Instead of taking our order, they talked and joked beside our table. The cooks would use gloves that they touched raw meat with to handle cooked food and also put raw meat containers out of the fridge, filled with water, onto the cutting board where cooked food was being placed. The tea tastes like they used the toilet water to make. Horrible experience.
Called in my order and it was ready when expected. We had a cheeseburger club and it was fresh and delicious.
Loved it !!! Excellent service and great food. Got to try the apple caramel salad. It's the bomb. Sincerely, Bill & Fran P.S. loving the name. 😉
Great comfort food! They are welcoming and the food was delicious!
Food was fair. Service great
Friendly and helpful staff. Food was really good. I had a bacon cheeseburger. It was perfectly cooked and juicy. My husband had the chicken sandwich and loved it. Crispy breading, perfectly cooked. Chicken was juicy. Loved the cole slaw.
Cozy atmosphere, friendly staff, good food, but service was slow. Great for a leisurely meal, but not if you're in a hurry. Menu full of southern comfort food. A local fixture for decades with a deserved reputation for small town atmosphere and good home cooking. Very generous portions!
